Success for Children’s Hospice
Our partnership with Children’s Hospice South West has proved a huge success, generating over 10 truckloads of stock to be sold in the charity’s shops in its first year. The profits raised from this much needed stock will enable CHSW to continue making the most of short and precious lives.
We began our partnership with CHSW last April, offering customers the satisfaction of decluttering and donating unwanted goods to the charity on the day of their house move.
For no extra cost we collect all customers unwanted goods and furniture on their moving day and take them to their depot to be picked up by CHSW. All customers have to do is simply request donation sacks from us prior to their move. CHSW would be delighted to receive donations of good quality clothes (adult, children’s & baby), coats, shoes, bags, games, toys, books, bric-a-brac and furniture.
Helen Banks, whose Mum lived in Clevedon, explains why the Yeates/CHSW partnership proved so helpful to her family:
“Yeates were due to do a house move for my mother last year, however unfortunately she died before the move took place. Despite the fact that we no longer required Yeates to do the actual house move they were really helpful, offering to come and collect any unwanted items when we cleared the house. At what was a difficult time for my family, it was lovely having someone offering to help in such a practical way. It was brilliant to think that Mum’s items would be benefitting such a worthwhile cause. My father had been involved with the charity in the past so the partnership with CHSW is one of the reasons my Mum had originally chosen to go with Yeates. It’s great to hear that the partnership has generated so much stock for shops – long may it continue!”
As we celebrate our first year of working together, we are keen to remind people that they don’t have to be moving house to take advantage of a feel good de-clutter. We also offers the public a drop off point for donations of unwanted goods at our Clevedon depot. Donations for CHSW can be left in a designated storage container in the depot car park. This is particularly useful for those wishing to donate larger items, such as furniture.
All donated goods will be sold by CHSW in their charity shops to raise much needed funds. The charity has a chain of 18 shops across the South West, including stores in Portishead, Nailsea and Bristol.
James Griffin, Yeates Managing Director, said: “We are delighted that our partnership with CHSW has proved so successful in generating stock for the charity’s shops. It’s particularly pleasing to hear that it’s proving beneficial for customers such as Helen’s family. Moving house can be a stressful experience so it’s great to be able to provide our customers with the satisfaction of not only having a clear out but also doing a good deed.”
Jane Smith, CHSW Retail Stock Generator, said: “We are so grateful to Yeates for all their support over the last year. Profits from our shops are hugely important in enabling CHSW to keep supporting local life-limited children and their families. We have opened three new shops in the Bristol area in the last year and our partnership with Yeates has played an important role in keeping them, and the rest of our existing shops, fully stocked.”
